On February 6, two strong earthquakes occurred in Türkiye, causing heavy casualties and property losses. After the earthquake, Zoomlion quickly rushed to the rescue site and was one of the earliest Chinese rescue forces to arrive at the disaster area. During the three-day and three night continuous rescue, the Zhonglian Heavy Industry Science and Technology Rescue Team raced against time to rescue survivors from the rubble and wreckage. So far, more than 30 people have been successfully rescued, and they have successfully “met” with the “national team” Chinese rescue team.
Khathai Province is one of the hardest hit areas of the Türkiye earthquake. On the afternoon of the 9th, rescue workers discovered an elderly person in a local ruin. The collapsed floor slab was pressing on her body, making her unable to move. She kept shouting, but her voice became increasingly weak. The Zhonglian Heavy Industry Science and Technology Rescue Team, who were searching nearby, immediately rushed to the scene and found that the ruins were formed after the collapse of a 7-story building. The entire building had collapsed backwards due to foundation damage, and the tilt angle had exceeded 30 degrees. The elderly person is trapped on the second floor, and rescue is facing numerous difficulties.
After understanding the situation, the rescue team of Zoomlion immediately discussed and formulated a rescue plan with local personnel. The operator drove the excavator to clean up the nearby collapsed objects, approached carefully while cleaning, and then had the rescue personnel climb over to rescue. At 17:00 local time on February 9th, the elderly person was finally rescued, more than 85 hours after the earthquake occurred.
After the earthquake in Türkiye, Zoomlion headquarters immediately instructed the local branch to set up a rescue team to urgently mobilize personnel, materials and equipment. The first batch of five new excavators and a large number of urgently needed materials in the disaster area traveled with rescue personnel at night and night. They ran for more than 1000 kilometers in 16 hours and arrived at the disaster site in Khathai Province from Istanbul through the snowstorm and road blockade.
With the organized and orderly development of rescue operations, the participation of Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology Co., Ltd. in the rescue has also continued to grow. At present, Zoomlion equipment of various types such as excavators, crawler cranes and truck cranes have participated in the rescue in Türkiye earthquake stricken areas. After three days and nights of continuous fighting, the Zoomlion rescue team has rescued more than 30 trapped people in Hatay Province.
In addition to rich rescue experience and strong emergency rescue capabilities, Zoomlion’s comprehensive emergency rescue system also provided strong support for this rescue operation.
