Recently, the four D1100-63 tower cranes sold overseas by Zoomlion Construction Hoisting Machinery Branch have completed the construction work of the midfield terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) for two years. The excellent performance of the products has been recognized by customers.
Abu Dhabi International Airport is located in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. It is one of the fastest growing airports in terms of global passenger flow, new flight openings, and infrastructure investment. Currently, Abu Dhabi Airport is undergoing expansion at a cost of approximately 6.8 billion US dollars. Zoomlion’s four D1100-63 tower cranes have been in service at Abu Dhabi International Airport since 2013. Over the course of two years, they undertook the entire steel structure project for the MTB midfield terminal at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). Recently, the D1100-63 tower crane, which has completed its construction task, is undergoing tower dismantling.
Zoomlion’s D1100-63 is a super large tower crane that absorbs the advantages of domestic and foreign tower cranes. Its maximum working range is 80 meters, maximum lifting capacity is 63 tons, arm tip lifting capacity is about 10 tons, and maximum lifting moment is 1100 tons meters, ranking first among tower cranes of the same model in China. According to industry experts, its main technical performance indicators have reached the international advanced level, in line with the European FEM (European Association of Material Handling Machinery) standards, and are in a leading position in China. The standard section of the D1100 ultra large tower crane features a new type of quick connect pin shaft with a certain taper, which is the first of its kind in China and is installed efficiently and labor-saving. Meanwhile, its external climbing frame is the only tower crane of its kind both domestically and internationally that can install standard sections and their channels in one go. In addition, its installation height is 10 meters lower than similar tower cranes in China, which has significant construction advantages.
In September 2013, when the Abu Dhabi Airport project began, four D1100-63 cranes from Zoomlion entered the site, and overseas company after-sales service engineers Yao Weidong and Pan Yuanguo were responsible for the installation, lifting, and commissioning of the tower cranes. In April 2014, due to the safety and reliability of Zoomlion’s products and the provision of excellent services, the Abu Dhabi Airport Project Department sent a thank-you letter to Zoomlion as a recognition. At the end of December 2015, the main steel structure of the airport terminal was completed, and the dismantling of the four D1100-63 towers began. However, due to the difficulty, the Abu Dhabi Airport project department had to seek help from Zoomlion again. After receiving the request from the other party, although the batch of D1100-63 tower cranes had exceeded the warranty period of the contract, the branch company immediately provided assistance to the other party by sending service engineer Yao Weidong to the construction site again to dismantle the tower, and completed the work task on time and with quality.
